Why are the EXP symbol fonts not displaying correctly?
Some users have reported that after they have upgraded their system to a
newer version of Windows the EXP symbol fonts no longer display correctly. This
problem appears to be the result of the Windows upgrade program not properly
copying the font setup from the old version of Windows to the new version. The
solution to this problem is to re-install the EXP fonts after the Windows
upgrade. Follow these steps:
- Make sure EXP is not running.
- Start the Windows Control Panel.
- Go to the Fonts section.
- If you are using EXP 5.1 or later, select the fonts whose names begin with
"EXP". If you are using an earlier version of EXP, select the fonts whose
names begin with "BC".
- From the menu, choose File and then Delete.
- From the menu, choose Install New Font.
- In the Add Fonts dialog box, move to the "<EXPDIR>\Fonts" directory, where
<EXPDIR> is the directory in which you installed EXP.
- Select all the fonts in that directory.
- Turn off the checkbox labeled "Copy fonts to Fonts folder".
- Click the OK button to add the fonts.
- Exit Control Panel.
- Restart EXP.
