Using HTML-Based Help with EXP 5.1 and Windows 7

Click here to download  (0.75 MB)

(Note: This article is a continuation of the article Using the EXP 5.1 Help System with Windows 7. Please read that article first.)

For those users who do not want to download, install, and configure the WinHelp extension to Windows 7, Symbol Dynamics provides an alternate HTML-based help system. The disadvantage of the HTML-based help system is that it is not integrated with EXP and you cannot get context sensitive help for dialog boxes and menu items. However, the two help systems provide exactly the same content.

The HTML-based help system is contained in a file called EXP51.chm. To download the file, click the link at the top of this page. It is recommended that you download the file to your Windows desktop. The location of your Windows Desktop folder is:

C:\Users\userid\Desktop

To view the HTML-based help system, double-click the EXP51.chm file. Note that you cannot launch the HTML-based help system from within EXP by pressing F1 or by choosing Help Topics from the Help menu. Those commands will attempt to launch the WinHelp-based help system.
